Two Guys January/February Newsletter New Year The First Month of the New Year From the land of Sunshine and Warm Smiles, The Smiles being directly proportional to the size of your wallet. I know that most of Europe and North America and elsewhere have been having a rough time of it, what with the weather and the economy, so hopefully I can cheer you up a little and remind you of your own little ray of exotic oriental sunshine. Once again the Guesthouse is full and It breaks my heart to turn away customers. We are 70 % booked up for March and 50% full for April so far. Many of the customers are returning guests but an increasing amount are new to Pattaya and Sunee. The SPI web site is doing a good job of promoting Sunee to the old and new visitors to Pattaya. The word of mouth about Two Guys is positive with comments such as nice friendly staff, clean, excellent breakfasts and reasonably priced. As always you can not please everybody but we still try. Farang New Year is over thank goodness, although the locals do not recognize it officially, they sure do make a party about it. I think I was invited to a party every night for about a week after New Year. I must say that I declined them all being the clean living person that I am. (Plus not having to spring for a bottle of whisky every time) Last weekend I was doing my usual Sat. night out on the Town (I have Sun. morning off) and making my regular donations to the underfed and needy. I happened into a club late in the evening, after walking around for many hours in search of recipients of my largess, and was surprised by a cute waiter dragging me to a seat then sitting on my lap. He put his arms around my neck and said do you want to f*** me. No I replied I just came in to have a beer and see if anybody needs a small donation. At the same time I noticed a Farang had bought a bottle of firewater and had been offering drinks all round. I think all the staff were very affected by his generosity because I had many people being unusually friendly to me, to the point of one baring it all and insisting in showing me his honey pot. Another sat beside me uncovered his two meat and veg. and proceeded to manipulate my feelings of generosity. I in turn was much moved and showered the staff with good luck tokens and kisses. By the way the waiter wanted me to FEED him, shame on you for thinking otherwise. One party that I attended was a birthday party at Mike’s La Cage bar for Sam. Sam is a regular at all the gay venues in Pattaya and a great source of current gossip. The party was going along nicely the bar being packed and the terrace next door hi- jacked from the White Night for the evening. Finger licking good snacks were supplied by the White Night and everybody was mixing and socializing with a pleasant buzz going on. Suddenly a row started at the back of the bar between three Thai boys; there were loud shouts, a few smacks and stools getting knocked over. An instant hush descended on the bar and all heads turned towards the ruckus. Many of the faces showing curiosity some concern, one customer bolted for the door. The melee continued and moved down the bar towards the outside door. The Thai boys were like Moses causing a clear parting among the customers in the packed bar. A couple of the customers getting jostled as the boys made there way outside. I was looking for the owner Mike to see what he was doing and noticed him sitting in his corner with a stupid grin on his face. Then the penny dropped, it was all a set up, he had hired some of the performers from the Alangkarn show and in his words” just to have something different”. After that the entertainment got into full swing with the Alangkarn boys doing a Thai theme dance and a candle dance. The next act up were dancers (generously loaned) from Euro boys and they gave their all, they had customers squeezing to the front of the crowd to present tips to their favorite dancer, at the end of each dance number they were given a rapturous applause. I know the dancers were bowled over with the level audience’s appreciation and also the level of tips they received. Mike’s LaCage Sam’s Birthday Party, Euro Boys Dancers. Happenings in Pattaya Pattaya International Bed Race 2010 On Sunday January 20 teams competed in this year's annual bed race along Pattaya Second Road, Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya Tai as. The event which was shown on BBC World Teams included the Alcazar "Pirates of the Caribbean", The Boyz Town's team, two teams from the Father Ray Foundation and Murphy's Law Team who won this year's Golden Pig Award. The Swimming pool in Sunee (Marina Inn) has been tarted up quite a bit, the big pool is filling with water as I write this . I noticed that the smaller pool has had seating and a central table fitted, so you won’t have to get out of the pool for your food or drink, maybe they will have cute waiters in skimpy Speedos serving. I am told that there is going to be a bar and café, certainly there is a new structure being erected where the changing rooms used to be. The Marina Inn Plaza bar is now finished and operational; It is quite a cozy little bar , drinks are reasonable and the staff friendly, good for dropping by to start or finish off the evening. Playboys and Villa Rouge I think will be a thing of the past, both owners have been arrested and charged. I believe the staff have moved to other bars in Sunee. I have been told Oscars Bar in Boyz Town is up for sale, don’t know the asking price but if you want a business to retire to here is one. David I am told has another project lined up for the future. For anybody wishing to do something upscale try the dusitD2 baraquda Pattaya, you can enjoy an evening of good food laced with magic as s.e.a. restaurant brings you the world class magician “Magic Howard” who will perform jaw dropping magic right at your dining table.
