New Facebook group for Sunee Plaza
A brand new facebook group has been started for Sunee Plaza. This will give all followers of this great social network a chance to keep up with the news. it will be kept updated alongside the website and the Blog. If you have a facebook account come along, join the group and keep up with the news.
The Marina Plaza Inn has reached a milestone today in its renovation works. The new lobby bar has been completed and opened for business. Our reporter was among the first to enjoy a drink after the new bar was unveiled. There was a certain amount of "I've seen that before" as the styling was compared with "Come In". In fact David from Come In was heard to remark that a copy fee should be imposed!
But wherever the concept came from, it looks good, the staff are friendly and the drinks a good price. Pop along and enjoy a drink with them.
The boys at Uniform Bar have gone sporty on us. They have had a new Pool Table and game machine installed by Eden Electronic. This will certainly give the boys and the customers something to do when they are not too busy. Why not pop in and see if you can beats the lads? They are even contemplating a tournament or league. Ask the guys there for more details if you're interested.
Oh and the lad in the picture with Graham is one of the installers, but I hear he's been offered a job at Uniform - watch this space!
The Balkan Express has decided to stop it's famous buffet on Sunday nights. (Do I hear a big "AHHHH" from the readers?) They will instead be increasing the menu on all nights and bringing back some old favourites like the chicken soup.
"I want to pass on congratulations to SPI for their success in a recent poll. 6 SPI places came in the top 10 gay VENUES in Pattaya. This is an incredible achievement and it certainly says something to me about the quality of service and the way we deal with our guests.
"SPI has pulld together the area and made us all raise our game. To have 6 out of the top 10 voted places says that we are getting there and now it is an area really worth visiting. This poll was independent and was an Internet poll from all over the world for visitors to Pattaya.
"The 6 member bars who made this distinction were Oud's Cafe and Bar, Corner Bar, Krazy Dragon, Mike's Bar La Cage, Memories Music Bar and Happy Boys. Well done to all 6 and thanks to SPI for bringing the area to the notice of the public. Next year let's see if we can't get all 10 top spots!
Sunee Plaza may not be as well known as Boyztown for it's bar lights, but the Krazy Dragon sign and one or two others provide it with a night "look" that is well known. There is now a new illumination to brighten our evenings.
Come In bar, which for a long time has been dark and un-signed, has just unveiled it's new grand lighting scheme. This sign will shine out over the plaza and become as loved a pointer to the bar as the Dragon is.
We have captured a picture before the sign was repaired and the new one for you to see the before and after. Enjoy!
Work has started today (Friday 18th December) on the pool at the Marina Hotel. They have already started work putting in a bar in the lobby of the hotel, so its all systems go now. I'll keep you updated with photos and progress reports, but its unlikely the pool work will be finished before March.
UPDATE 09/01/10
Work is pressing on a pace. The end date looks a little more like February now. They have finished the demolition work and are working on the pool surround. A new structure has been started next to the hotel. However there is no sign of pump work yet. More to follow!

Works have now started on the buildings; there will be a bar and kitchen. They have also started renovating the small pool. It's all getting exciting now as there is real progress! The latest opening date is February 8th, but ...

Well things are really hotting up now! The pool work is well underway. The two buildings are structurally complete - the bar/kitchen and the showers/toilets. The small jacuzzi pool has a new seat and a centre table. The surround is complete and the new fence has started to go up. The one thing that's not started is any work on the main pool itself - maybe it doesn't need much. Completion date has been confirmed again for February 8th ...

The calendar is also available by mail order. You can pay by PayPal, which is secure. You don't need a PayPal account, just a credit card or a Bank Account. Your personal details are not revealed to us or anyone outside PayPal.

Eros Gogo Bar temporarily closed. We have spoken to them and they say they should be open again on the 9th. This is the latest information we have and can only assume what they say is correct - but watch this space for more details.
Don Plaza Club.The former gogo bar - Legun - has been converted into the "Don Plaza Club". I have had an update from the owner and he has had a change of mind. It will NOT now be a private club but will be a beer bar, with "interesting" waiters". Works have been completed and they will open as soon as they have a license. UPDATE 16/12 - The "Club" opened today.

Marina Inn Plaza hotel has changed hands. The new owner, a nice Frenchman called Josh, is carrying out some remedial works, most importantly this will include getting prices to renovate the swimming pool. Works could be scheduled to start this month and we are not sure how long they will take. Eros A Gogo has also changed hands as a result, but I am not quite sure yet who the new owner of this is.
Enjoy Karaoke (in the old Violet House) is having a grand opening party ON THE 30th October. They will be having all night entertainment from 8pm to the not so small hours of the morning. They will feature Karaoke and Coyote dancers. Go along and welcome Sunee's newest venture!
UPDATE 20/11/09 After a brief closure, Enjoy is now open again and looking forward to meeting you as one of their customers.
The Krazy Dragon has introduced a shop on their website. You can now buy online all the goodies you had previously only been able to get from the bar. Forest House has put in a pool table for their patron's use. They also have a sports TV showing all the footabll league games plus other sport by request. Catch up on the sport here!
